The biggest night in classical music

The biggest show in the history of the Classical BRIT Awards featured performances from Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman who reunited for a rendition of ‘Canto Della Terra’, cellist Steven Isserlis performing Bach, Suite No.5 in C Minor ‘Sarabande’, soprano Anna Netrebko with ‘Les Filles de Cadix’.
Josh Groban performed ‘February Song’ followed by a rendition of ‘Navarra’ a piece for 2 violins performed by David Garrett and Valeriy Sokolov who were accompanied by Chinese guitarist Xuefei Yang. Hayley Westenra and Jonathan Ansell took to the stage to perform ‘Un Giorno Per Noi’ .
Sarah Brightman returned with Andrew Swait to perform ‘Pie Jesu’ in recognition of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Requiem. The show came to a close as two of the world’s greatest operatic talents Andrea Bocelli and Anna Netrebko performed together for the very first time singing ‘Brindisi’. The London Chamber Orchestra conducted by David Charles Abell accompanied all performers.
